What do maggots look like in a fish tank?

i asked a question before asking what was in my fish tank because when i woke up their was literally thousands of squirmy little white things floating in my tank and not just the top of the tank the whole entire tank they are everywhere!! and so anyways someone said they are maggots do you think they are or what are they?
