Try to treat him as "normally" as possible. Don't fixate on his medical and developmental issues to the point that you ignore the little boy. Children of all abilities enjoy being read to, going to the park and playing with friends. Your little boy spends so much time in therapy and as a patient he might not get enough time to just be a kid. Your job is to make sure he gets to be "just a kid" as much as possible. It sounds like you are doing a great job meeting his needs.
