How do you know if you really believe in god?

Well, it's not that simple. Many people believe that even if God knows they are sinning, he will forgive them when they ask for it. But I agree that an awful lot of people do not believe nearly as much as they claim to do. Given all the contradictions in the Bible, such a level of belief is probably impossible without driving yourself insane.
