2012, new cycle?? is it true?

I heard that 2012 was real, then I did research and found it was fake. I saw that it was the year of solar maximum. I then learned there was no giant flare...only disturbance in signals with cell phones and stuff. Then I read about Mayans...their 4th dimension or whatever the heck they call it was ending. People thought "end of the world omfg!" anyways, it turns out I learned that the 5th dimension cycle or whatever is just going to be normal days and stuff. So, if this goes as first thought, we will end up dying like y2k... 2001, 6/06/06, 7/07/07, and then we will just be dead like all of those dates?
